Clarence Foister

Funeral services for Mr. Clarence Odell Foister, age 82, of Baxter, will be at 1 p.m. Friday May 18 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Bro Gary Norton officiating. Interment will follow at Sand Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Friday from 12 noon until service time. Mr. Foister passed away Tuesday morning May 15, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born September 2, 1935 in Monterey, TN to the late Edward and Thelma Holloway Foister. Mr. Foister formerly was a truck driver with Wilson Freight in South Charleston, OH. After moving to Baxter, he worked and retired with the Putnam County Highway Department. He enjoyed playing the guitar, especially blue grass music, and tinkering on various projects including tending his beautiful rose bushes. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris Dimple Nabors Foister, who he married November 7, 1953 in Cookeville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Joe Krajicek of Cedarville, OH, Sandra and Dwight Smith of Xenia, OH, Michelle and Gary Bowman of Baxter; grandchildren, Brent (Brandee) Krajicek, Stephanie (John) Martin, Nikki Boyd, Ashley (Kurtis) Jones, Amber Smith, Heather Woody, Will Bowman, and Madison Bowman; special grandson-in-law, John Woody; and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donney Foister; brother, Haggard Foister; sister, Gertrude Phillips; and infant brother, David Earl Foister. Mr. Foister's grandsons and sons-in-laws will serve as pallbearers. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
