Clara Dean Goodwin

Funeral services for Clara “Dean” Goodwin, age 77, of Cookeville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 16, 2010 in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Welch Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 15 from 4 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and then on Thursday morning until time of service. Mrs. Goodwin died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born May 2, 1933 in Overton County TN to the late Chester Ray and Beulah Walker Ray. Dean was a Lead with Russell Stover Candy Manufacturing for a number of years before her retirement. Since retiring she has worked faithfully with the Community Action Center of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ where she was a member. Her family includes one son: Jerry Goodwin and wife Jennifer of Cookeville; one sister: Lily Jones of Anderson Indiana; five grandchildren: Charleton Goodwin, Amber Goodwin, Clinton Goodwin, and Katherine Goodwin all of Cookeville, and Jacob Goodwin of Dallas TX. She was also great grandmother to two children, Layla and Kristen Goodwin as well as many friends and extended family. Bro. Charles Williamson will conduct the services.
