Cissie Tennant

Graveside services and internment for Mrs. Janice (Cissie) Irene Tennant, age 65 of Cookeville, will be held 2pm on Tuesday, November 4 at the Maxwell North Cemetery in Baxter with Rev. Gary West officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 – 8 pm at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Mrs. Tennant passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, November 1, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 19, 1949 in Cookeville, to Lucy Irene Wilhite Maxwell of Cookeville and the late Dallas Foster Maxwell. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Dennis Sterling Tennant. Mrs. Tennant was retired from Universal Plastics with over 30 years of service. She loved taking care of her family, especially her granddaughter, Chloe. She enjoyed her family, working on the farm, and tending her garden. She was an avid bowler, and rarely missed Monday night bowling league. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis Dallas (DD) and Christy Tennant of Cookeville; special granddaughter, Chloe Tennant; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Mary Maxwell of Cookeville, Dale and Barbara Maxwell of Lebanon, TN, Terry and Helen Maxwell of Cookeville; sister and brother-in-law, Kimberly and Bobby Maxwell of Douglasville, GA; nieces and nephews, Sherry Scott, Kathy Jo Maxwell, Kevin Maxwell, Karen Buck, Enitra Overstreet, Chad Maxwell, and Brett Maxwell.
