Funeral services for Charles "CHUCK' Michael Shanks, 67 of Baxter, will be Thursday, September 3 at 1 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with Dr. Jim McAfee officiating. Interment with military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard will be in Smellage Memory Gardens in The Boma Community. The family will receive friends Thursday after 11 AM until service time at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. He was born October 16, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to Margie Allen Shanks of Baxter and the late Roy Shanks. He was a driller in the construction industry. He was a Army veteran in the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors in addition to his mother include daughter Tammy Shanks and son Charles Todd Shanks both of Michigan, sister Pat (Ken) Klippen of Chesterfield, VA., brothers Larry (Kelly) Shanks of Gaylord, Michigan, Gary (Linda) Shanks of Baxter, several nieces and nephews.
