Funeral services for Minnie Christine Mansell Vinson, age 89 of Cookeville, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday November 16 in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Scott McKinney will officiate. Interment to follow in Brown's Mill Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. and again Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of services. Mrs. Vinson went home to be with the Lord on Thursday November 11, 2021, while at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born December 21, 1931 in Putnam County, TN to the late Harvey N. and Ruby L. Whitaker Mansell. Mrs. Vinson was a member of Cookeville First Baptist Church. She worked in the furniture business for over 40 years as a seamstress. She also owned and operated Mom's Place at the Crossville Fleamarket for over 20 years. She loved to fish, sew quilts, browse garage sales, and work at the flea market booth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Louis Vinson (married January 19, 1953); brothers, Clifford, Kenneth, and Albert Mansell; sisters, Lola Flatt, Josephine Haffner, Francis Hitchcock; and infant sister, Mildred Mansell. She is survived by two sons, Roger W. Vinson, Donnie (Glenda) Vinson; grandson, Brandon Vinson; brother, Taylor Mansell; and sisters, Elnoria "Tootsie" Presley, all of Cookeville. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
