Chris Palmer

Mr. Chris Palmer, age 59 of Cookeville and former resident of Florida, died Saturday morning, October 2, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born May 24, 1962 in Brooklyn, NY to Beatrice Butler Palmer and the late Leo Palmer. His family moved to Orlando, Florida when he was age four. Following graduation from high school, Chris enlisted in the US Army and served as a medic. After his military service, he began training as a firefighter. He served as a firefighter in Lake County, FL for 20 years and was trained in high angled rescues, Cert and in Hazmat. His career as a fireman was cut short due to a back injury but he remained passionate about fire service and the brotherhood with his colleagues throughout his life. Chris is survived by his wife of 21 years, Martha Jane Moores Palmer; sons, Joshua Jasperson and wife Nicole and James Jasperson, all of Apopka, FL; and by granddaughters, Emma and Haylee Jasperson.
