Chris Huddleston

July 1, 1982 — April 17, 2024

Baxter-Christopher "Chris" Dow Huddleston, a cherished father, son, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024, in Buffalo Valley, Tennessee. Born on July 1, 1982, in Carthage, Tennessee, Chris was a beacon of love and kindness throughout his 41 years of life.

Chris grew up in the welcoming community of Buffalo Valley. He attended Upperman High School in Baxter. Remembered for his athletic prowess, Chris excelled in football, basketball, and baseball. His dedication and skill on the baseball diamond earned him a scholarship to Motlow College, where he continued to shine both on the field and in his studies. After graduating from Smith County High School, Chris went on to build a life filled with passion, hard work, and service to others.

Chris was an assembler at Alpha Solutions in Cookeville, where he was known for his meticulous attention to detail and his team-oriented attitude. His colleagues admired him for his work ethic and his ability to bring warmth and humor to the workplace.

Chris was a man who valued his family above all else. He is survived by his daughter, Hollister “Holly” Marie Schwartz; father, Dow Huddleston of Buffalo Valley, his half-sister, Charlotte Huddleston Frasier, and her husband, Jeff, will fondly recall his kind spirit and the laughter they shared. Chris's memory will also be cherished by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, each of whom felt the warmth of his generous heart.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Anita Heflin Huddleston Jasin, in 2019, his grandparents Clarence Taylor and Eleanor Ensor Huddleston, Spril Campbell and Golda Mai Cowan Heflin, and the birth mother of his child, Kathleen Marie Schwartz, half-sister, Angela “Angie” Joy Huddleston.

Services to celebrate Chris's life will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, April 23, at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Officiated by Pastor Houston Jared of Baxter Life Church, the service will be a reflection of Chris's faith and the hope he instilled in those around him. Following the service, Chris will be laid to rest in Jared-Huddleston Cemetery on Stanton Ridge Road in Putnam County.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday from 4 to 8 PM and again on Tuesday after 11 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In a final tribute to Chris, family and friends Ronnie Huddleston, Jr., Jeff Huddleston, Gary Huddleston, Denton Huddleston, Dawson Huddleston and Bennett Jared will serve as pallbearers, honoring a man who touched so many lives with his fun loving nature.

Christopher Dow Huddleston's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring bonds of family. His spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his memory will be held close in the hearts of all who loved him.
