Chloe Burgess

Funeral services for Chloe Mae Burgess, 94 of Baxter will be Thursday, June 11 at 11 a.m. from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with interment in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Burgess died Tuesday morning, June 9, 2015 at her home in Baxter. She was born October 10, 1920 in Putnam County, TN to the late Isaac Elam and Isabell Montgomery Lee. She was a member of the Baxter Church of Christ and attended the Ladies Bible Class. She was a member of the Baxter Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Henry Burgess on July 21, 1998, sister Lula Lee, brothers Herman Lee, Odell Lee and Winell Lee. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law Shirley Ann and Tom Calloway of Baxter, Linda and Bill Burton of Lilburn GA; son and daughter-in-law Larry Alan and Katherine Burgess of Harvest, AL; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. John Pippin, P.V. Whitefield, Jake Burton, John Burgess, Larry Burgess and Linda Burton will officiate. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. till service time Thursday at the funeral home.
