Cherrye Carr-Aguirre

BAXTER CHAPEL-Cherrye Lynne Carr-Aguirre, 72, was born June 8, 1952 in Cookeville, TN and died Tuesday morning, January 28, 2025 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Her parents moved to Michigan where Cherrye went to school and earned 4 Masters degrees in social work. She was a champion in her work, assigned to help and rehabilitate troubled individuals in the Detroit, Michigan area. She worked with Mexican Industries, INC in Detroit for many years and later started her own company, Lapeer Spirit Guidance and Counseling in Lapeer, Michigan. Her slogan with her new company was, "It's not about the weight of the load we carry, it's about how we carry it". Cherrye literally went to the "trenches" to help those in need.

While in Michigan, she along with her husband owned an 18 acre horse ranch. She enjoyed riding and taking care of her horses.

Cherrye had a beautiful smile and bubbly personality and she loved her friends and family unconditionally.

She was preceded in death by father, Earl Ray Carr; brothers, Donnie C. Carr and David Earl Carr; grandparents: Cordell and Dorothy Julian Carr of the Boma Community of Putnam County and Dow Andrew and Elizabeth Ann Baker Huddleston of the Mt. Herman Community of Putnam County.

Cherrye leaves behind her husband of 37 years, Rance Aguirre of Cookeville; mother, Doreen Huddleston Carr of Cookeville; step-daughter, Elizabeth Aguirre of Greenfield, Massachusetts; brother, Randal Wayne Carr of Cookeville; grandchildren, Madax and River Shurman; and several nieces and nephews.

Her wishes of cremation are being honored and no formal services are planned.
