Charles Pardue

Charles Lindberg Pardue, age 86 of Kingsport, TN died March 11, 2014 at Masters (Kindred) Nursing Home in Cookeville, TN of natural causes. Charles had recently moved to Cookeville in December 2013. The family had a private gathering in his memory. Born on Dec 13, 1927 in Coeburn, VA, he was the son of the late Elizabeth and William Pardue. Preceding him in death were his sisters, Nancy Talley of Orlando, FL, Frances Herndon of Norton, VA and Jenny Lowe of Pittsburg, PA; brothers, Harry Pardue of Charlottesville, VA, Frank Pardue and Bill Pardue of Coeburn, VA; and son, Frank Pardue of Kingsport, TN. Charles is survived by his daughter, Penny and son-in-law, Bill Carter of Duluth, GA; son, Charles W. (Bill) and daughter-in-law, Paula Pardue of Cookeville, TN; son, John Pardue of Seattle, Washington; daughter-in-law, Betsy Pardue of Kingsport, TN; sister, Mary Pardue of Duluth, MN; and grandchildren, Katie and son-in-law Kenneth Carrico of Kingsport, TN, Christy Pardue of Atlanta, GA; Elizabeth, Benjamin, and Thomas Pardue of Cookeville, TN. Charles was a graduate of Milligan College in Johnson City, TN. He retired from AFG Glass (now AGC) and was previously a member of VFW Post 3382 in Kingsport. Charles enjoyed golf and had volunteered at Warriors Path State Park golf course. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kingsport Public Library, 400 Broad St. Kingsport, TN 37660.
