Charles Latrell Paul

January 24, 1928 — April 9, 2015

Charles LaTrell Paul passed away peacefully April 9, 2015 at Signature Healthcare Center in Algood. He was born January 24, 1928 to Virgil and Zethra Paul of Ada, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Agnes Paul of 58 years and his parents. Charles is survived by two daughters; April Paul Bailey of Sparta TN and Lynda Davidson of Ada, OK as well as two sons; Virgil Paul of Cookeville TN and Johnny Paul of Monroe GA. along with seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother; Dale Paul of Lubbock TX. Charles was a minister and an accomplished Singer who produced four gospel albums. In the 1970’s Charles trained Golden Glove Champion boxers after being an undefeated pro boxer himself. He was the first Heavy Weight Champion in Detroit MI. Mr. Paul had a passion for flying and at one time owned four airplanes, flying salesmen across the country for several businesses. In 1970 Charles trained Ladies Choice walking horse champions. Later in life he played golf on the PGA Senior Tour and started making custom golf clubs that found their way as far as Barcelona, Spain. Mr. Paul possessed a marvelous voice that once sang on the Grand Ol Opry as well as preached the gospel for over thirty years. When asked what the best thing he had ever done was, he replied, “I married my wife!” A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at Yankee Town Freewill Baptist Church May 3, 2015 starting at 4:00 p.m.
