Funeral services for Mr. Charles Edwin McCormick, age 77, of Cookeville, will be Monday, May 21, 2012, 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Algood City Cemetery. Mr. McCormick was born July 23, 1934 in Putnam County TN to the late Willie Austin & Pearle Burnett McCormick . Charles was retired from Tennessee Tech as a Boiler Operator. He served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist E-4. Charles loved Gardening, Flowers, Auctions, Traveling, the UT Volunteers, but most of all he was a loving father to six kids. Mr. McCormick attended the Living Hope Church. Charles is survived by five children: Doris(Philip) Brown, Margaret (Grey) Dunn, Karen (Ronnie) McCloud, Rob (Paula) Riddle & Tim (Lesley) Riddle all of Cookeville, one sister: Bessie Mai Allen of Algood, brothers: Carl McCormick of Maysville, KY, Randall (Shirley) McCormick of Cookeville, Roy McCormick of Aberdeen Ohio, a sister-in-law Pauline McCormick, 3 grandchildren: Wade Bowden, Joshua Scott, Christina Riddle, and 6 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, and his wife, Stella Stevens McCormick, Mr McCormick was preceded in death by a son, S. Ray Riddle, two brothers: J.D & Joe McCormick, two sisters: Joyce McCormick and Jean Wyrick, and his beloved dog Sandy. Pallbearers will be Tim Riddle, Rob Riddle, Grey Dunn, Phil Brown, R.J. McCloud, Michael McCormick, Josh Scott and Josh Swanger. Bro. Ron Allen will officiate the services.
