Charles Dean Slagle

Charles Dean Slagle, age 84 of Cookeville, passed away Monday afternoon June 1, 2020 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born Monday October 7, 1935 in White County, Tennessee to the late Charles Lynn and Mary Irene Gribble Slagle. Charles Dean was of the protestant faith. He was a retired lineman with AT&T with over 34 years of service. Following retirement he worked a number of years in real estate in Florida. He was a member of AT&T's Pioneer Club and Sons of the Daughters of the American Revolution (SDAR). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Media Frances Ramsey Slagle who died May 31, 2017; daughter, Rosie Rocks; and two infant brothers. Survivors include daughters, Karen Slagle of Daytona Beach, FL, Mary (Spouse Wendy) Slagle of Belleville, MI, Connie (Dennis) Grondin of Montgomery, IL; son, Charles (Joyce) Slagle of Newport, TN; several grandchildren and extended family. Friends are invited to come by Dyer Funeral Home to sign the guest book and pay their respects on Friday from 11 a.m. until service time. Funeral services will begin 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Judy Duke officiating. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. Interment will follow in Saylors Cemetery in White County. Memorial contributions may be made to CRMC Foundation Cancer Care Fund, One Medical Center Blvd, Cookeville, TN 38501.
