Memorial services for Mr. Cecil Lloyd Crawford, 81 of Austin Bottom Community will be held Saturday January 12 at 1 p.m. at St. Michaels Episcopal Church with Rev. Joe Weatherly and Father Herb Caplin officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Michael"�s Columbarium. Mr. Crawford died after a short illness Sunday morning January 6, 2013 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born April 2, 1931 in Putnam County, Tennessee to the late Alvin Sercy and Rose Elizabeth Williford Crawford. He graduated from Cookeville High School and from Tennessee Tech University and received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee in 1958. His pharmacy career included working at Walgreen"�s in Memphis, Cecil Davis Medical Pharmacy in Cookeville, Winningham Drugs in Livingston, and, along with being a long-time pharmacist for Cookeville General Hospital. In 1979 he purchased Sparta Discount Drugs which he owned and operated until his retirement. He was long-time member of St. Michaels Episcopal Church and the Tennessee Pharmaceutical Association. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He loved and cherished his family and had a passion for the outdoors, especially Center Hill Lake. He was expecially close to all his children, Dewey, Emmett, Sabra and Martelia. He so loved all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Golda Jones. Survivors include sons, Emmett & wife, Carla Crawford of Monterey, Henry Dewey Crawford & girlfriend, Kim French of Baxter; daughters, Meekel Edna-Reed Goff, Martelia Crawford both of Cookeville and Sabra and husband Earl Rinio of Sparta; 12-grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren; brother, Donald and wife, Wilma Crawford of Old Hickory, TN; and two sisters, Willene Flatt and Claudine Richardson both of Algood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michaels Episcopal Church 640 North Washington Avenue Cookeville, TN 38506. His family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Saturday from 12 noon until service time at the church.
