BAXTER-Public Graveside Service for Catie Rose Scott, 18 of Cookeville will be Wednesday, December 30 at 1 PM at Double Springs Cemetery. There will be no public visitation at the funeral home. Bro. Jeff Stout will officiate. Due to COVID-19 please adhere to social distancing. Miss Scott died Thursday, December 24, 2020 as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident on Highway 136 in Putnam County. She was born October 30, 2002 in Cookeville to Rick Scott and Meri Anthony Scott both of Cookeville. She was a Senior at Upperman High School in Baxter.She was a member of the Upperman High Band playing the flute. Catie was the Upperman Band Sweeheart at this year's Upperman Football Homecoming. She was also a member of the Upperman High Choir. She was planning on graduating in May 2021, and her plans were to go to college and her wishes were to be a counselor to children and young adults. Catie was an accomplished musician playing the piano and guitar. She was employed part-time at the Cookeville YMCA-Y Play in the child care center. Catie's interests also included photography, drawing and her love to sing. She was preceded in death by a grandfather Ned Scott and an uncle Tim Scott. Survivors in addition to her parents include grandmothers Janice Scott of Double Springs, Romney Anthony of Fentress County, TN, grandfather Eric Anthony of Maine, aunts and uncles: Sheri and Harold Ralph Maynard, Mark Scott all of Double Springs, Judah "Lin" Anthony of Cookeville, Peter Anthony of Fentress County, Joan Sally Anthony of Overton County, Shawn McBurnie of Minnesota, half-brother Justin McGarvey, cousins Tiffany Scott, Beth and Rachel Maynard, Tara Scott, Skyler and Morien McBurnie, Colton Frasier, Jason, Bryce and Tanner Boles, Eaven, Emma and Ezra McGarvey boy friend Thomas Johnson, special friends Summer Cox and Emily Collins. Active Pallbearers will be Jeff Stout, Justin McGarvey, Judah "Lin" Anthony, Thomas Johnson, Peter Anthony and Anthony Jackson. Catie's favorite Bible verse was I Corinthians 16:14ESV Let all that you do be done in love. Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (931)858-2134.
