Cathleen Loveday

Cathleen Lorraine Delaney Loveday, age 54, of Cookeville, passed away on Sunday morning, February 17, 2019 at her home with her family by her side. She fought a tough battle with cancer for many years, facing it with relentless perseverance, unwavering faith, and true strength. She was born August 5, 1964 in Anchorage, AK to the late James Daniel Delaney and Jane Evlyn Lewis Delaney. She graduated from Westover High School in Fayetteville, NC in 1982, and she received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Tennessee Tech in 1995. She worked as a cardiac nurse at Cookeville Regional Medical Center and later at TN Heart. Cathleen was a selfless, loving wife and mother, who always put her family first. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jim Loveday, whom she married on October 10, 1986 in Fayetteville; four daughters, Jane Loveday Hendrick and her husband, Tyler, Madeline Loveday, Lily Loveday, and Kate Loveday, all of Cookeville; two brothers, James Delaney of Wilmington, NC and David Delaney and his wife, Susan, of Holly Springs, NC; a sister, Colette Delaney of Anchorage, AK; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Maggie Girdwood. Memorial services for Cathleen will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23 at Colonial View Baptist Church. Rev. Marc Burnett will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cathleen Loveday Memorial Fund with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization which she supported.
