BAXTER-Funeral services for Carson Lee Herren, 56 of Smithville formerly of Baxter, will be Friday, October 22 at 12 Noon at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the G.V. Herren Cemetery in Silver Point. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 8 PM and after 10 AM Friday until service time at the funeral home. Carson died suddenly, Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Ascension St. Thomas-DeKalb Hospital in Smithville. He was born July 10, 1965 in Cookeville to the late Zina Lee and Helen Marie Bradford Herren. He was a 1983 graduate of Upperman High School in Baxter and a Tennessee Tech University graduate with a degree in Business Management. Carson enjoyed watching all sports on TV, especially basketball and football. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was the only person who mastered his mother's cornbread dressing recipe. Survivors include son Brandon Lee Herren, currently serving as a Army specialist at Ft. Hood, TX. sisters Treasa (Bruce) Clouse of Sparta, Kimberly Smith of Cookeville, special friend David Lattimore of Smithville, several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Jared, Shannon, Matt & Clayton Clouse, Ricky Robinson, Billy Anderson, and Jason Satterfield. The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make contributions to the funeral home toward funeral expenses.
