Carolyn Goolsby

Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Joyce Goolsby, 75 of Hermitage, TN and formerly of Cookeville will be held at 1pm Tuesday, June 3 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Algood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 – 8 pm and again Tuesday from 11am until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Goolsby died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was born May 22, 1939 in Putnam County, TN to the late Chesley R. and Nina Lou Phillips Bilbrey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lynn Goolsby Sr. Mrs. Goolsby was retired elementary teacher at Algood and Rickman schools with over 27 years of service. She was also a gifted artist and enjoyed square dancing with her late husband. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn Jr. and Amy Goolsby of Hermitage, Mark and Kelly Goolsby of Cookeville; and granddaughter Hannah Goolsby of Cookeville. Pallbearers will be Daryl Blair, C.W. Pointer, Anthony Bennett, Steve Pierce, Pat Pointer, and Shawn Roberson.
