Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Lee Reid "CoCo" Campbell, age 74, of Cookeville, will be 3 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Cookeville First United Methodist Church with Dr. Martin Thielen officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 24, 5-8 p.m., at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home, and again Sunday from 2 p.m. until service time at the church. Carolyn passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at her home. She was born November 22, 1943 in Moline, IL to the late Herman and Marie Redburn Reid Carolyn was a graduate of East Moline High School in Illinois. She attended Black Hawk College in Moline and Western Illinois University (WIU) in McComb, IL. She met her husband, Richard (Dick) Campbell, at WIU. They were married on April 6, 1963 in Moline, IL, and lived there until 1965. They moved to Harrison, AR, in 1965; to Harlan, KY, in 1969; and to Cookeville in 1973. Carolyn was foremost a mother and homemaker, but found time to work at a women's clothing store and as a travel agent. She opened her successful antique business in Cookeville, later moving it to Nashville. She enjoyed playing tennis with her best friends for 25 years and was a member of Gourmet Group for 40 years. Carolyn was the consummate shopper. She was known for her quick wit, her beauty and her charming smile. She loved entertaining her friends and her children's friends; her home was always open to receive them. She was a member of House and Garden Club, Magnolia Garden Club, and Collectors Club. She was an active member of the Cookeville First United Methodist Church, where she loved bible study. She also taught Sunday School and Youth Fellowship. Carolyn and her husband enjoyed traveling. They traveled to most of the states in the U.S. Over many years, they traveled to Switzerland, Germany, England, Ireland, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Austria, Hungary and China. While traveling, she always shopped for antiques and gifts. Her skills with home decoration and decor were well known and were reflected in her home, which she filled with treasures. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard Campbell; daughter, Elizabeth Marie Campbell; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Stephanie Campbell all of Franklin, TN. She is also survived by grandchildren, Reid Alan Campbell and Miller Larue Campbell of Franklin; brothers, Ron Reid (Barbara) of Atlanta, GA, and Bill Reid of Elkhorn, WI; and many nieces and nephews. Special caregivers include, Gina South and Cindy Day. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Richard Alan Campbell, Jr. Pallbearers will be Allan Ray, Jim Hughes, Ronnie Swann, C.W. Buckner, Dr. Bill Humphrey, and Jim Hicks. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Hicks, Dan Buckner, Dr. Jeff Moore, Davy Phillips, Chad Combs, Jared Maddux, John Maddux, Dr. Tracey Cho, David Johnson, Billy Thies, Bill Reid, Jake Reid, Sam Reid, Ryan Maples, Brandon Harcum, Mike Witt, Dr. Tom Lawrence, and John Cohea. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place; Memphis, TN 38105) or Shriners Hospitals for Children (Attn: Office of Development; 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr.; Tampa, FL 33607).
