Carole Hauer

Memorial Services for Carole Calahan Hauer, 83, of Algood, will be held Tuesday, March 21st at 2:00 PM at the Algood United Methodist Church. Rev. Pat Smith and Rev. Brent Davis will officiate. Mrs. Hauer's family will receive friends from 1PM until service time at the church. Carole died Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. She was born January 23, 1934 in Algood to the late Robert Bethel Calahan and Eva Mae Lemons Calahan. She was a graduate of Algood High School and a 1956 graduate of Tennessee Tech University with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. She worked as a librarian at University of Tennessee and also at Knox College, Galesburg Illinois. She and husband Rev. Billy John Thomas Hauer were residents of Knoxville, Illinois for over 30 years. They retired to Algood in 2000 and attended Algood United Methodist Church, Mrs. Hauer's childhood church. She is survived by sons, Randolph Carey Hauer of Boulder, CO and John Mark Hauer of Huntsville, AL and by sister, Linda Smithers and her son, Carole's nephew, Daniel R. Martin, both of Cookeville.
