Carol Jean Rose passed away peacefully on September 29, 2023, in Cookeville, TN. Born on July 28, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Rev. Quintin Rose and Thelma Smith Rose, Carol was a beacon of love, generosity, and friendship to everyone who knew her.
Carol utilized her skills for 26 years as Community Outreach Program Coordinator at Bridgestone/Firestone. Her dedication, hard work, and friendly demeanor earned her respect and admiration from her colleagues, and she formed many special friendships throughout her tenure at the company.
Beyond her work, Carol was also deeply committed to her faith. A devoted and active member of the Stevens Street Baptist Church, she was deeply invested in the church's care center ministry. Carol loved the Lord deeply, and her life's mission was to bring others closer to Him. Her generosity and love were evident in her service to her church and her community. She was also a most excellent cook, and regularly prepared delicious meals for her family.
Surviving Carol are her daughters, Amber (Knute) Griffin and Nikki (Jeff) Begley; her sister, Brenda Vinson, and brother-in-law, Roger Vinson. She was a beloved grandmother to Max, Mitchell, and Mckay Griffin, Auston Reynolds, Elisabeth Begley, and Evan (Bailey) Begley. Carol was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Spencer Begley, Willow Deason, and Millie George. She is also survived by the father of her children, Ron Simcox.
Known for her friendly nature and loving heart, Carol was a woman who left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She was a cornerstone of her family, a trusted friend, and a respected colleague. She was a woman of faith, and her commitment to serving others was a testament to her generous spirit and loving heart. Her legacy will continue to live on in the lives of those she touched.
A memorial service to honor Carol will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Stevens Street Baptist Church. Pastor Scott Parkison will officiate. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm until service time at the church.
