COOKEVILLE-Funeral services for Mrs. Reba "Carol" Burgess, age 82 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Dr. Charles McCaskey and Rev. Christian Smith will officiate.

Her family will receive friends Sunday from 1pm until service time at the Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Interment will be held Monday, February 20th at 10am at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Burgess died Wednesday morning, February 15, 2023 at NHC of Cookeville.

She was born May 10, 1940 in Cookeville, TN to the late Ramon and Edith Nash Gentry.

Carol was a lifelong member of Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served the Lord faithfully there in countless ways throughout her life, including as pianist, organist and in the church's CPW ministry. She enjoyed people and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.

Carol was employed as a branch manager of the former Union Planters Bank.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Eldon Burgess; and by a brother, Jere Gentry.

She is survived by daughters, Melissa (Drew) Rawlins, of Nashville and Amy (Danny) Crooks, of Cookeville; grandchildren, Andy (Ali) Rawlins, of Roswell, GA, Madison (Ryan) Haynes, of Nashville and Natalie Crooks, of Cookeville; great grandchildren, Emma Rawlins and Pryor Grayson Haynes; a brother, Max (Wanda) Gentry, of McMinnville; and by sister in law, Willene Gentry, of Cookeville.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
