Carlos Bogran

Funeral services for Mr. Carlos Bogran, age 92 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday April 23 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery. Dr. Charles McCaskey will officiate. Carlos' family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Carlos died Tuesday evening April 19, 2016 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born September 22, 1923 in Tela, Honduras to the late Antonio and Francisca Paredes Bogran. Carlos has lived in the U.S. since 1943. In 1950 he earned his BS Degree in Education from Ball State Teacher's College in Muncie, IN. On April 20, 1952 he married Catherine Brown. Since their marriage they have lived in Muncie, Indiana; San Pedro Sula, Honduras; Chalmette, Louisiana and for the last 10 years have resided in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was retired from the Kaiser Aluminum Company and attended Cookeville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Gertrude "Tula" Guell, Teresa Bogran, Concepion Milla, and Faustina Acosta; and three brothers, Jose Antonio Bogran, Luis Francisco Bogran, and Roberto Bogran. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Catherine Brown Bogran; two sons and daughters-in-law, Carlos Jr and Donna Bogran and David and Michelle Bogran; two grandchildren, Carlos (Leigh Ann) Bogran III, and Kristen (Josh) Hill; two great grandchildren, Addison Leigh Bogran and Aubrey Katherine Hill; and a sister, Francisca (Paca) Castellon of Honduras. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
