Candida Leon

Funeral services for Mrs. Candida Leon, 61 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, July 27th at 1:00 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Carlos Morales will officiate. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 5-8 p.m. and again Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Leon passed away Monday, July 22, 2019 at her residence. She was born March 8, 1958 in San Miguel Acatan, Huehuetenango, Guatemala to Teresa Mendez and the late Miguel Pascual. The family matriarch, Candida was a caring person who placed the needs of others before her own. She was a mother to extended family and too many others. She loved and faithfully attended her church, Tabernaculo La Roca-Cookeville. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Carlos Mendez. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Cesar Leon; and sons, Javier Mendez, Miguel Mendez and Cesar R. Leon; daughters and sons in law, Juanita Mendez and Manuel Bouliers, and Sabina and Valentin Soto; six granddaughters, three grandsons, three brothers and six sisters.
