Randy was born in Cookeville to the late Burdett Randolph, Sr. and Hazel Hyder Randolph. Randy enjoyed living on his family's farm and working it with his dad when he could. It was a beautiful farm and Randy was so proud to call it home for most of his life.
Randy began his military career on March 25, 1975 when he enlisted in the Tennessee Army National Guard. His career spanned 32 years on a full time basis, 36 years total, and included two tours of combat duty in Iraq. He was promoted to Sergeant Major in 2012 where he served until his retirement in September 2016. He deeply appreciated the relationships he formed with his work colleagues. His job and the men he worked with were a big part of his life, an extension of his family.
Randy was an amazing husband, dad and gramps. He selflessly and tirelessly served his family. His wife Kellye wishes to express the following sentiments: "Randy never wavered when he was needed. I will be forever grateful to him and all he gave us. Moving forward everyday, I will wake up and say, 'I'll see you tomorrow'. I love you."
