Bricie Rice

Celebration of Life service for Bricie Mae Rice, 97 of Baxter will be Tuesday, December 28 at 6 PM at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Gary Dyer will officiate. A gathering of friends will be from 4 PM until service at the funeral home. Graveside service will be Wednesday, December 29 at 9 AM at Boiling Springs Cemetery. She died Saturday, December 25, 2021 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born April 4, 1924 in Fentress County, TN to the late Henry Randolph Stamps and Rebecca Elizabeth Beasley Stamps. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard Bethel Rice on February 26, 1993; son, Arland Rice; brothers, James Edselle Stamps and Billy Gene Stamps; niece, Julaine Deis. She was a homemaker. Bricie was interested in gardening vegetables and flowers. She fed the birds and all wildlife of nature. She was interested in recycling and taking care of the planet we live on. She said " People loving and caring for each other makes for a better world". Bricie also enjoyed history. Survivors include a granddaughter, Helga Ostreng of Oslo, Norway; nieces and nephews, Rebecca Brown of Norris, TN, Ronnie Rogers of Louisiana, Laquetta Godfrey, Tim Bray and Lisa McBroom; special niece and nephew, Sharon and Gary Dyer of Cookeville; sister-in-law, Betty Burgess.
