Brian Douglas Losee

COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Brian Douglas Losee, 53, of Cookeville, will be held Friday, April 11, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday, April 10, from 12-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Losee died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at his residence. He was born Nov. 19, 1954, in Elkhart, Ind., to Wilbur and Betty Losee of Elkhart. Mr. Losee lived in Cookeville for 25 years. He was an active member of Praise Cathedral Church of God, where he sang in the choir and led the 'Draw Closer to the Well' men's prayer team. He also taught and organized the boys' Sunday School class in the church. Mr. Losee was a landscaper for 18 years at Abel Gardens and was employed by Institutional Wholesale in Algood for three years. In addition to his parents, his family includes his wife, Sylvia Losee of Cookeville; a son, Brandon Losee of Knoxville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Denis and Jodi Losee and Mark and Kelly Losee of Elkhart; a nephew, Jason Losee and wife Lori of Indianapolis; a very special niece, his 'angel,' Lilly of Morris, Okla.; and a host of adopted nieces and nephews at Morris School in Morris, Okla. Mr. Losee was preceded in death by his grandparents. Pallbearers will be Mr. Losee's two lifetime friends, Bill (Wally) Walthers of Texas and Dave Raber of Indianna; two brothers-in-law, Doug Leek of Indianna and David Scoffield of Oklahoma; and two friends, Mack Stone Jr. of Nevada and Rodney McConaha of Algood. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Martin Jr. and Mack Stone Jr., both of Nevada, Matt Darty and Clifton Patrick, both of Algood, Adam Hedrick of Knoxville and Jason Losee of Indianna. Memorial donations may be made to the Lou Gehrig Foundation. Pastor Ken Stephens will officiate the services.
