BAXTER-Funeral services for Brenda June Jones, 69 of Baxter, will be Thursday, September 1 at 1 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the New Home Baptist Church Cemetery in the Boma Community of Putnam County. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM and after 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Bro. John Pippin will officiate. Mrs. Jones died Saturday, August 27, 2022 at her home in Baxter. She was born May 31, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois to the late William Tom and Una May Prater Hampton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Terry "Red" Smith, son Gregory Ray Jones, granddaughter Heather Jones, sister Rosemary McNeil, brother Tommy Hampton, Jr. She was a member of Baxter Church of Christ. She was a retired housekeeper in the motel industry. She was loved by all and affectionately referred to as "Nana". She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include daughters Beverly (David) Stephens, Sara Parrish, son Chris (Teresa) Jones all of Baxter, sister Linda Bradshaw of Fairview, TN., brothers Johnny (Cindy) Hampton, Daniel Hampton all of Madison, TN, grandchildren: Angela, Cody, Haylie, Branson, Brandon, Stormy, Justin, Haven and Sunni, great-grandchildren: Lily, Chevy, Austin and Abel. Active Pallbearers will be Chris, Stormy, Jathan and Justin Jones, Brandon Hyzer, David and Branson Stephens, Haylie Permenter and Cody Parrish.
