Bonnie Tinch

November 12, 1950 — July 25, 2023

Bonnie Nabors Tinch was called home to be with our Lord on the 25th day of July, 2023. Born in Nashville, TN on November 12, 1950, Bonnie's life was a testament to her faith, her love for family, and her commitment to serving her community.

Bonnie was the daughter of the late Ira and Margie McCulley Nabors. She was a beloved sister to her brother, James David Nabors, and her sister, Maureen, who is married to Wayne Upchurch. She was also a devoted wife to her husband of 49 years, Gerald Tinch, whom she married on April 12, 1974, in Baxter, TN. Their love story was one of mutual respect, devotion, and enduring affection.

The couple was blessed with a son, DeWayne Tinch, who is married to Stephanie. Bonnie was a doting mother and grandmother to her special granddaughter, Maddie Tinch. Maddie was her pride and joy! She was the kind of matriarch that families are built upon, always asking others about their families, always showing genuine interest, and always offering a comforting smile.

Bonnie dedicated 43.5 years of her life to public service as the office manager for the Cookeville Water Department. Her work ethic was an example to all, demonstrating that dedication and commitment are not just words, but a way of life. Bonnie also served as a board member of the Middle Tennessee Federal Credit Union, and a proud member of the Red Hat Society.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Bonnie was a faithful and active member of Stevens Street Baptist Church, where her warm and welcoming spirit could always be felt. She was an integral part of her life group, People of Promise, where she shared her faith and her love for the Lord with others.

Bonnie passed away peacefully at her residence in Cookeville, TN. Her departure leaves a void that could never be filled but her memory will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate to have known her.

Funeral services honoring Bonnie will be at 11 a.m. Saturday July 29 at Stevens Street Baptist Church. Pastor Scott Parkison and Pastor Keith Tosh will officiate. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery. Her family will welcome friends Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the church and again Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time.

Pall bearers will be her nephews: Greg Key, Randy Tosh, Kevin Tinch, Chris Nabors, Wes Nabors, Matt Nabors, Andy Nabors and Jason Mott.
