COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Bonnie Jean Miller, a beloved figure in her community, passed away on January 6, 2025, at Signature Nursing Home. Born on January 10, 1933, in Simon, West Virginia, Bonnie lived a life rich in love, friendships, and accomplishments that spanned over nine decades.
For more than 27 years, Bonnie dedicated herself to her career at Fleetguard, gaining respect and admiration from her colleagues. Upon retiring, she became known for her caring heart and vibrant spirit. Bonnie found joy in attending spirit-filled services at the Church of God, where she formed cherished connections and nurtured her faith.
Bonnie was a small woman with an immense drive and spirit, making friends wherever she went. Her personality shone brightly; she was a straight shooter who wasted no time getting to the root of the matter. Her proudest accomplishment was a unique collection of ties, which she cut off from supervisors, managers, and even company executives-a testament to her unconventional wit and tenacity.
Bonnie's love for travel took her to many corners of the world, enriching her life with diverse experiences and friendships. She is survived by her loving children: Nancy (Phillip) Lafever, Barbara Davis, Carol (Mark) Smith, and JR (Judy) Miller, all residing in Cookeville, TN. Her legacy also includes her grandchildren: Josh Pritchard, Phillip Michael Lafever, Viola Glass, Katherine Rex, Frances Hammock, Jennifer Smith, Nathan Smith, Alex Miller, Will Miller, and Emily Miller. Bonnie was also the proud grandmother of 21 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed by her sister, Anna Lawrence of Moraine, Ohio, and her brother, Connie Lee Kennedy of Cookeville, TN. Bonnie held a special place in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever remember her warmth and kindness.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roscoe Miller, her grandson, William Glass, her parents, Tennessee and Don Woody, and her siblings: Nany Muche, Dolly Kennedy, Jason Woody, Bill Woody, Bootz Woody, and Joe Goodman.
A memorial gathering in her honor is being planned and will be held will be held at a later date.
Bonnie Jean Miller’s life was a tapestry of love, resilience, and spirit, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
