Bob Wilborn

Robert "Bob" K. Wilborn, age 62 of Cookeville, passed away June 8, 2019 at Veterans Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born August 22, 1956 at Fort Walton Beach, FL, to the late Billy Wilborn Sr. and Betty Virginia Dean Matheny Wilborn. Bob served his country as a Marine for four years. While serving, he was stationed in Okinawa and Camp Le June, North Carolina. He was later honorably discharged. He then worked as a Sales Representative for Cullum & Maxey RV Sales in Nashville and as a Sales Manager for Mattress Warehouse in Nashville, where he accomplished one million dollars in sales in one year. From 2000 until his death, he was a 50% co-owner of The Peddler. He also volunteered with various veteran efforts. Bob was a huge fan of Nascar Racing, especially of Jeff Gordan, and the Tennessee Titans. He was an avid sportsman; he enjoyed camping and fishing, especially Smallmouth Bass fishing at Dale Hollow Lake. Bob enjoyed meeting people; he never met a stranger. He is survived by his son, Joshua Wilborn of Livingston; granddaughter, who he dearly cherished, Faith Wilborn; brother, Billy (Shana) Wilborn of Cookeville; sister, Becky (Don) Clark of Hendersonville; niece, Samantha Clark of Hendersonville; aunt, Elena Maxwell of Hilham, TN; stepmother, Kay Elder Wilborn of Byrdstown; stepbrothers and stepsister, Linda Crouch, Ernie Elder, and Kenny Elder; and many other cousins and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home on Sunday, June 23rd at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
