Funeral services with military honors for Mr. Bobby Dewaine Harris, 83 of Cookeville will be held at 11 am Monday, September 30 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Buddy Johnson officiating. Graveside service and interment will be at 3pm Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville. Mr. Harris' family will receive friends Sunday from 5 -8 pm and again Monday from 10 am until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Harris died Friday, September 27, 2013 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born September 28, 1929 in Cheatham County, TN to the late Elijah Thomas and Essie Pearl Harris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Ted Harris. Mr. Harris was of the Church of Christ faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Harris was retired from furniture manufacturing. He was formerly employed at Murray Chair in Nashville, Twin River Furniture in Gainesboro and D.T. McCall and Sons in Cookeville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, gardening, and reading. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ina Rhoton Harris (whom he married March 15, 1952 in Corinth, MS); two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Randy Jeter, Stephanie and Bill West, all of Nashville; brother and sister-in-law, Merrell and Kap Soo Harris of Nashville; sister and brother-in-law, Betsy Gaynelle and Jim Dearing of Deland, FL; five grandchildren, Jennifer Thomas, Renea Mason, Will (Allison) West, Tiffany (Jordan) Holton, and Chad West; six great-grandchildren, Josh and Jenea Ledbetter, Evan and Alex Mason, Sophia Holton, and Tabor West; two sisters-in-law, Marie Reiser and Helen Harris; aunt, Lucille Bracey, uncle, Mickey Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ 521 South Jefferson Ave.
