Bob Dixon

Robert (Bob) Dixon, age 74 of Cookeville, died suddenly, Wednesday January 27, 2016 at his home. No memorial services are planned. Bob was born June 13, 1941 in Monticello, IL to the late Leonard Lewis Machak and Bonnie Jeanne McClure Dixon. He served in the US Navy for 8 years and was a Vietnam War veteran, having served on US Navy Seal Team 2. Following his military career, he worked as an electronis engineer. Bob obtained a patent for a inventing a light plane generator. He was also active in research and design in the computer and biomedical fields. Later in life he enjoyed wood working. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathleen (Kathy) Ann Butkauskas Dixon (whom he married August 3 ,1963 in Pana, IL); son Patrick Dixon (wife Carrie) of Gold Canyon, AZ; four daughters, Annette Master of Winchester, TN, Rene Canfield (husband Steve) of Cookeville, TN, Christina Day (husband Robert) of Globe, AZ, and Deborah Taylor of Maricopa, AZ; three half-sisters, Sara Anderson, Cheryl Machak, and Amy Vlink; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
