Birdie Golden

Funeral services for Birdie Jane Cole Golden, 94, of Cookeville will be held Thursday, November 10 at 1 PM in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with interment to follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. Bro. Jeremiah Tatum will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 5 PM to 8 PM and Thursday 10 AM until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Golden died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Masters Health Care Center. She was born October 26, 1917 in White County, TN to the late Jessie and Louetta Trobaugh Cole. Mrs. Golden was a member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ and a retired restaurant cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, William Monroe Cole, China Odell Tollison, Walkey Lee Brown, Margie Mae Tollison, Thomas Henry Cole and Ira Meletius Cole. Mrs. Golden is survived by two daughters, Anna Ruth Judy of Baxter and Shelah Josephine Golden of Cookeville; five grandsons, William Ezra (Sue) Burton, Frank Royce Burton, Paul Burnell Burton, Ernest Wayne Golden and James Richard Golden, five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
