BJ Roberts

COOKEVILLE CHAPEL-Billy Joe Roberts, affectionately known as BJ, was born on May 6, 1944, in Cookeville, Tennessee. He passed away on Monday October 14, 2024, at Bethesda Health Care in Cookeville. BJ was a dedicated and hardworking butcher at Spring Street Supermarket, where he earned respect for his craftsmanship and commitment to quality.

Throughout his life, BJ exemplified a simple yet profound existence, characterized by a warm smile that brightened the days of those around him. He was a man of kindness and integrity, making an impact on the lives of many with his genuine nature.

BJ is survived by his beloved brother, Rev. Bobby Roberts, and sister, Janet Roberts. He cherished his nieces and nephews: Barry Roberts (Sherry), Shannon Wallace (Denny), and Nathan Clouse (Barbara), who held a special place in his heart. His special friends, Bill "Buddy" Davis and Tracy Schaever, were invaluable companions who enriched his life with their friendship. He is also remembered fondly by his cousin, Debbie Damaschun.

He was preceded in death by his parents, RV and Lucille Sadler Roberts, wife, Wilma Murray Roberts, and his sister-in-law, Beulah Roberts.

A graveside service will be held in his honor at Algood City Cemetery on Sunday October 20, 2024, beginning at 2:00 PM.
