Billy Ray Maxwell

BAXTER-Memorial services for Billy Ray "Fig" Maxwell, 68 of Cookeville, formerly of Baxter will be Saturday, December 4 at 12 Noon at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Steve Burgess will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 AM until service time at the funeral home. A private family burial will be at the Joe Bob Allison Cemetery near Baxter. Mr. Maxwell died Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born February 4, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan to the late John Monroe and Gladys Willene Allen Maxwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Loftis Maxwell on March 4, 2006. He attended Upperman High School in Baxter. Bill retired from Tennessee Tech University in the Maintainence Department with 14 years of service. Bill was a true Vol fan. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Jonathan Trent and Nicole Maxwell of Cookeville, daughter Holly Chaffin and husband Trent Snider of Baxter, brother Jack Maxwell of Silver Point, Special friends Juli Tucker and Stephanie Scaggs, grandchildren: Bailey and Dillon Meadows, Abigail Calfee, aunt Margie Shanks of Baxter, uncle and aunt Morris "Cat" (Linda) Maxwell of Baxter.
