Billie Ruth Gibbons

Billie Ruth "Tootsie" Gibbons, a source of love and selflessness, peacefully left this world on May 31, 2024, at the age of 93, at Sacred Ground Hospice House in Knoxville, TN.

She was born on October 25, 1930, in Livingston, TN to the late Harv and Della Eldridge Lee.

Tootsie lived a life marked by thoughtfulness and dedication to her family and community.

Tootsie was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Amos Gibbons and her dear sister Reba Copeland, and is survived by her adoring nieces Debra and Carol Copeland of Farragut, TN. Her legacy continues through her great nieces and nephews, Kimberly, Travis, Tara, Vicky, John, Braton, and Cade, and she also leaves behind five cherished great-great nieces and nephews.

Her working years were crowned by her voluntary service as she assisted her niece at the East Side Cafe, where her generosity of spirit shone brightly. It is her endless capacity for love, her thoughtful nature, and her selfless actions that will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know Billie Ruth "Tootsie" Gibbons.

Graveside services and internment for Mrs. Gibbons will be at 1pm, Monday, May 6, 2024 at Overton County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Seth Presley officiating.

The family will welcome friends immediately following the graveside.
