Billie Jo Gentry

Billie Jo Gentry, 89, left this life for her eternal life to be with her Lord on July 30, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Hospital in Cookeville, Tn. Billie was born in Boma Tennessee on Aug 19, 1931 to Jack and Jessie (Carr) Stewart. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Claude Thomas Gentry (2000) parents, Jack Stewart and Jessie Lena Carr Stewart and her sister Ruth Allison (2017). She is survived by her sisters, Delores Joseph, Mary Maxwell (Melvin), Wanda Roth (Mike), her brothers Frank Stewart (Judy) and Jack Stewart (Cathy); her sons Doug Gentry (Sherry), Don Gentry (Nancy); her grandchildren, Tracy Austin (Mike), Tommy Gentry, Jason Gentry (Jennifer), Charles Gentry and Leena Gentry; great grandchildren Jo Claudia Austin, Jamieson Austin, Samuel Gentry, and Elizabeth Ann Gentry. Billie was a beautician before she and her husband founded Genco Stamping and Manufacturing Company in 1969 where she worked as bookkeeper and accountant until he retired in 1990 to travel and enjoy life. She, however, was not quite ready to retire and continued to work part-time for several more years at their family business. Gran, as she was known to her family, loved each of them beyond measure. To know her was to love her infectious smile and fun loving personality. She always had a way of making everyone feel welcome and special. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Graveside services were conducted at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family preferred donations be made to The Mustard Seed Ranch, 4955 Kuykendall Rd., Cookeville, TN 38501, or the charity of your choice.
