Mrs. Billie Glee Beaty, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2023, in Cookeville, TN. Born on November 13, 1928, in Byrdstown, TN, to Webster and Treva Thompkins Mathews, she was a woman of warmth, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Billie was a graduate of Pickett County High School. Her education paved the way for a decade-long career with the State of Tennessee, where she served with diligence and professionalism in administrative services.
In her personal life, Mrs. Beaty was a beacon of love and laughter. She had a great sense of humor that could light up any room, and her sweet nature endeared her to all who knew her. Her home was a welcoming haven, filled with the mouth-watering aroma of her cooking. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like shopping and spending quality time with her loved ones. Above all, she was a devoted family woman, a wonderful mother whose heart was always full of love for her children and grandchildren. She has been a member of Cookeville First Baptist Church since moving back to the Cookeville area 32 years ago.
Mrs. Beaty is preceded in death by her parents, Webster and Treva Mathews, her daughter, Jackie Donaldson, sister, Frances Hassler, and her husband, J.D. Beaty. Her memory will be cherished by her son, Stephen Beaty of Cookeville, son in law, Lonnie Donaldson, her grandchildren, Nicole Givan, Matthew Donaldson, and Jay Donaldson, her seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Each of them will remember her as a pillar of strength and love, the heart of their family, whose legacy will continue to inspire them.
A graveside service and interment will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 1:00 pm in the Sylvester Robbins Cemetery in Monroe, TN. Pastor Mike Head will officiate.
Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
