Bill Longmire

Monterey Military Honors for Mr. Billie Gordon Longmire, age 86, of Monterey, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday September 22 at Horner Funeral Home in Monterey. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Mr. Longmire passed away suddenly Saturday September 15, 2018 at his home. He was born July 27, 1932 in Straight Creek, KY to the late Ed Longmire and Georgia Bell Longmire. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Roger, Arvid, Wallace, Edward Gwynes, and Wanda Longmire. Mr. Longmire was a retired veteran of the US Navy. After retirement, he moved to Tennessee where he was a self-employed property manager. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ruth Ann Woolbright Longmire; son, David (Grace) Woolbright of Brentwood, TN; two sisters, Rose Nell Wilson and Corrine (Jack) Harding; granddaughter, Leah Grace Woolbright of Brentwood; Nieces Nephews, Kathy Tyne, Susan Harding, Kim O'Grady, Berry Wilson, Doug Wilson, and Bruce Wilson. Mr. Longmire was a loving husband as well as a gentle and patient caregiver to his wife.
