BAXTER-Funeral Services for Carl Gerald "BILL" Harris, 67 of Silver Point, will be Sunday, September 13 at 2 PM from the Silver Point Church of Christ with interment in the G.V. Herren Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home Saturday from 4 to 8 PM and at the church after 1 PM Sunday. Bro. Luke Wilken and Bro. John Whitson will officiate. Mr. Harris died Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born November 16, 1947 in Putnam County to the late Jon and Aline Henley Harris. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers: John Harris, Jr, Dillon Harris, Larry Harris, Royce Harris and William Arthur Harris. He was a retired bull dozer operator with Loyd Shores Trucking Company. He loved squirrel and coon hunting and fishing. He was a member of Silver Point Church of Christ. Survivors include wife of 48 years Judy Herren Harris (Married July 1, 1967) of Silver Point, two daughters and sons-in-law Lynette and Jeff Ellis, JoJo and Jim Braddom all of Silver Point, two sisters and a brother-in-law Joan and Jere McCulley and Linda Harris all of Cookeville, three grandchildren: Jordy Ellis, Jenna Ellis and Kellie Jo Casey and a host of nieces and nephews.
