Funeral services for Mr. Billy "Bill" McKinley Adams, age 85 of Algood, will be held Saturday May 16 at 11 a.m. in the Algood Family Event Center. Rev. Mark Gaw will officiate and interment will follow in Algood City Cemetery. Mr. Adams passed away Thursday afternoon May 14, 2015 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born March 10, 1930 in Whitesburg, KY to the late Riley B. and Marjorie Day Adams. Bill owned and operated Bill Adams Carpeting until his retirement. Bill has been a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church since the early 1970's. Bill was also a long-time former member of the Cookeville Masonic Lodge #266 F&AM and Al Menah Shrine Temple. He was a family man who loved having his kids and grandkids over in his pool, taking them on camping trips, or just enjoying the great outdoors with them. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Bates Adams; and a son-in-law, Jerry Littrell Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sharon and Thomas Peek, Deena Littrell all of Cookeville and Nanette and David Storie of Old Hickory, TN; seven grandchildren, Bryan Peek, Brent Peek, Kevin (Jennifer) Peek, Matt (Jamme) Littrell, Adam (Laci) Littrell, Courtney (Brian) Brauss, and Josh (Brittany) Dyer; 13 great-grandchildren, Ally, Lauren, Tyler, Trent, Luke, and Mattie Peek, Emerson and Gunner Littrell, Mia, Paxton, and Ellie Brauss, Sharles and Brayden Dyer; three sisters, Dixie Brown of Louisville, KY, Canna Webb of Lawrenceburg, KY, and Judy (James) Gilley of Hazard, KY: and two brothers, Jack (Mabel) Adams of Whitesburg, KY and Richard (Brenda) Adams of Louisville, KY. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Bill's family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the Algood Family Event Center. Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (931) 526-6111.
