Bettye Whiteaker

April 15, 1940 — January 27, 2024

Graveside Services and Interment for Bettye Whiteaker, 83 of Cookeville, will be Monday, January 29 at 10 AM at West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls Community. There will no visitation at the funeral home. Everyone will meet at the cemetery. Family members will officiate.

Mrs. Whiteaker died Saturday morning, January 27, 2024 at Signature HealthCare-Putnam County in Algood.

She was born April 15, 1940 in Sparta, TN to the late Vasco and Lina Brewington Randolph.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Lewis Whiteaker on May 26, 2011, and a sister Pollye Durbin.

Bettye was a member of Scott Avenue Baptist Church for many years until her health declined. Her work history included Red Cap and as a cafeteria associate at Cookeville High School.

She enjoyed shopping and antiquing, spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Johnny and Rose Whiteaker of Cookeville, daughter Deborah Roberts of Sparta, sisters Faye Robinson of Sparta, Mabel Tabors of Monterey, brother Crock Randolph of Cookeville, a host of grand and great grandchildren.
