Betty Sue Bullock Newman

Mrs. Betty Sue Bullock Newman passed away Thursday April 6, 2023 at McKendree Manor in Hermitage, TN at the age of 90 after a brief illness.

Funeral services for Betty will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 14, 2023 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery. Bro. Buddy Johnson will officiate.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and again Friday from 9am until service time at the funeral home.

She was born December 5, 1932 in Cookeville, Putnam County, TN to the late Walter Thurman Bullock and Dimple Huddleston Bullock.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Angela Newman Trisdale, of Hermitage, TN and Jayne Newman Barns, of Cookeville, TN; five grandchildren, Jeff (Robin) Morgan, of Mt. Juliet, TN, Jennifer Morgan, of Mt. Juliet, TN, Jody Trisdale, of Hermitage, TN, Christopher (Kim) Barns of Murfreesboro, TN and Jason (Sarah) Barns of Nashville, TN; five great grandchildren, Laci Morgan of Mt. Juliet, David Barns, Jacob Barns, Katherine Barns and Elijah Barns, all of Murfreesboro, TN; a sister, Mary Frances Carter; and by several nieces and nephews.

Betty will be remembered by her beautiful blue eyes and friendly personality.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 59 years, Haskell “Hackie” Lewis Newman; brothers, Dave Bullock and Charles Bullock; and by sons-in-laws, Daniel Trisdale and Richard Barns, Jr.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
