Betty Sadler

Funeral services for Miss Betty Katherine Sadler, 69 of Cookeville, will be conducted Saturday June 18 at 1 p.m. at Wright's Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Earl Dirkson officiating. Interment will follow in Algood Heritage Cemetery. Miss Sadler's family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Betty departed this life on Friday morning June 10, 2016 at Signature Health Care Center in Algood. She was born June 25, 1946 in Cookeville, Tennessee to the late Dill and Inez Dowell. Betty graduated from Darwin High School and later earned her BS Degree from Tennessee State University in Nashville. Betty worked for the State of Tennessee Department of Labor and Work Force for 30 years until her health failed her due to Multiple Sclerosis. She was a life-long member of Wright's Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Barry Dowell. Survivors include her only sibling, Cordell Dowell; niece, Anita Carter both of Cookeville; three nephews, Cordell Dowell Jr of Cookeville, Jeffery (Martha) Dowell of Findley, MN, and Alan (Renea) Dowell of Goodyear, AR; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
