Betty Norris

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jane Norris, age 73, of Cookeville, will be Wednesday March 4 at 1:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Clayton Lee and Bro. Ronnie Dunn will officiate. Interment will follow in the Double Springs Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of services. Betty passed away Saturday February 29, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was born December 25, 1946 in Putnam County, TN to Juanita Allen Steel of Cookeville and the late Samuel Steel . Betty was retired from Wilson Sporting Goods. She formerly had worked at Red Kap and Cookeville Shirt Factory. She was a loving grandmother and fondly remembered for her crochet and cake decorations. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 52 years, Don Curtis Norris, whom she married July 1, 1967; two sons, David (Bonnie) Norris, Curtis (Shelia) Norris; daughter, Donnell (Justin) Lee; brother, Tony (Sheila) Steel; sister, Pat Bryant; grandchildren, Jeffery (Amanda) Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Chelsea (Tyler) Slagle, Haley Hardy, and Mackenzie Norris all of Cookeville; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Christina Norris; mother-in-law, Ozzie Norris; and brother-in-law, Fred Bryant. Pallbearers will be DJ Coulson, Tyler Slagle, Johnny Kellum, Jefferey Roberts, Dustin Johnson, and Cliff Howell. Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931)526-6111.
