Betty Neal

.Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Sue (McReynolds) Neal, 67 of Cookeville will be held at 1 pm Saturday, June 7, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Dr. Charles McCaskey officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 – 8 pm and again Saturday from 11 am until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Neal passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 after losing her battle with pancreatic cancer at her home in Cookeville with friends & family at her side. She was born April 28, 1947 in Cookeville to the late Quinton Warren and Eulene Junior Roberts McReynolds. She graduated from the Cookeville High School in 1965 and she was a 30 year survivor of breast cancer. Mrs. Neal was a member of Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was retired from clothing retail sales most recently having been employed at Belk in Cookeville. Betty loved God, country, and family. She was outgoing, friendly and never met a stranger. Betty valued her friendships and family the most. She received special joy from her sons, and grandchildren. Betty also enjoyed traveling, especially to new places. One of here favorite pastimes was "playing in the dirt" tending her flowers. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Thomas Neal (whom she married December 31, 1965 in Cookeville); two sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Courtney Neal of Charleston, SC, Chad and Lauren Neal of Cookeville; brother, Zach McReynolds of Cookeville; and five grandchildren, Caylin, Ella Jane, Colin, Olivia, and Hannah Neal. Pallbearers will be Mike and Pat Norman, Dean Johnson, Greg Ford, Malcom Rios, and Paul Bathke.
