Funeral services for Betty June Maxwell, 91 of Cookeville, formerly of Baxter, were held Thursday, June 10 at 10 AM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Samuel Maxwell Cemetery in Baxter. The family received friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM. and after 9 AM Thursday until service time at the funeral home. Bro. T. J. Bennett officiated. Mrs. Maxwell died Sunday morning, June 6, 2021 at Morningside of Cookeville. She was born June 26, 1929 in Putnam County to the late Ridley and Milbra McCaleb Bean. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great grandchild Riley Paige Maxwell, sister and brother-in-law Clairetta and Jay Lawson. Betty worked as a Teller at Michigan Bank in Detroit and retired as a Custodian for Warren Woods School District. She was a member of Baxter United Methodist Church. Betty is survived by her husband of 71 years (Married September 10, 1949 in Detroit) Robert Earl "Kenneth" Maxwell, sons and daughters-in-law Gary and Barbara Maxwell of Destin, FL., Alan and Elizabeth Maxwell of Shelbyville, Mi., Lary Maxwell of Bolingbrook, Ill., 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
