Betty Lou Nunnally of Memphis, TN, formerly of Grand Junction, TN, passed away January 11, 2017 following a brief illness at Baptist East Hospital in Germantown, TN. Betty graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1961 where she enjoyed her years as a cheerleader and her many friends. She then attended Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, MS. Betty had a long, fulfilling career for many years in the Art Department of Plough, Inc. in Memphis until her retirement. Betty was known for maintaining connection with her classmates, family friends in Grand Junction, and with extended family. She was committed to keeping everyone informed of pertinent events in people's lives when they were in need of prayer and attention. Betty's hobbies were anything pertaining to the Entertainment Arts in Memphis. She often attended Broadway productions when they came to Memphis as well as other special events and exhibits. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, James Morris Nunnally and Clara Margaret Scott Nunnally; her sister-in-law, Kathy Kennon Nunnally; her niece, Jana Blaire Nunnally; and her beloved fiancé, Andy. She is survived by her siblings, James Morris Nunnally, Jr. (wife, Jamy) of Houma, LA, William Scott Nunnally (wife, Joy) of Greeneville, TN, David Arthur Nunnally (wife, Susie) of Southaven, MS, and Cheryl Nunnally Moore (husband, Lee) of Cookeville, TN. She also enjoyed following the lives of her nieces and nephews; Betsy, Bonnie, Jason, James David, Avery, and Caroline. She also leaves behind beloved cousins who were childhood playmates and remained friends into adulthood; Roberta Parker, Mary Louise Powell, Cindy Britto, Joan Carby, and Barbara Jane Nunnally. There will be a Memorial Service honoring Betty at First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction on Saturday, January 14, 2017 with family receiving friends at 10:00 A.M. with the service beginning at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests that friends and family donate to the charities of their choice.
