COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Betty Jo Farley, a cherished member of the Putnam County community, passed away on February 19, 2025, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee at the age of 77. Born on March 12, 1947, in Monterey, TN, she lived a life marked by dedication, faith, and love.

Betty retired as a Nurses Assistant at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, where she provided compassionate care to countless patients. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond her professional life; she was a long-time member of the Monterey Free Will Baptist Church.

Betty Jo attended school in Monterey, TN and she maintained strong connections with her roots throughout her life.

Outside of her career, Betty enjoyed simple pleasures such as playing bingo, fishing, and savoring a cup of coffee. These hobbies brought her joy and were often shared with family and friends, creating lasting memories.

She is survived by her ex-husband, Joe Farley; her son, Jody (Amy) Farley of Crossville, TN; her daughter, Pamela (Russ) Harris of Cookeville; her sister, Bessie Addison; and her grandson, Joshua Farley of Gainesboro, TN. These loved ones will carry forward her legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering support.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Walter and Pearlie Lee Copeland Dixon, and her siblings, brothers Odell Dixon and Claudall Dixon, as well as sisters Frances Dixon, Ruth McCloud, and Wilma Chilton. Their memory remains an integral part of her legacy, cherished and remembered by her surviving family.

Funeral Services honoring Betty Jo Farley will be held at 11am, Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Floyd officiating.

Interment will follow at Sand Springs Memorial Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

As friends and family gather to celebrate her life and reflect on her many contributions to those around her, Betty Jo's spirit will undoubtedly remain alive in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
